Where Hooves Rest and Riders Begin.
A castle is not just walls and towers — it’s a nerve center for action.
Patrols ride out at dawn, scouting the hills beyond. Messengers gallop through storm and shadow to carry word to the next stronghold. When the call to arms echoes through the courtyard, the cavalry mounts fast.
And all of it begins here.
These humble stables may be small, but they are vital. Horses are fed, saddled, tended, and armored. Rain, wind, or snow — they need shelter. And here, they find it.
This isn’t just a barn. It’s the first and last stop for the moving heart of the fortress: its riders.
Wooden stall unit (base dimensions: 3x7 cm)
Pitched roof
Some trimming may be needed to smooth connection points — nothing a hobby knife can’t handle.
Glue roof if desire.
Most often, stalls are attached to a wall. No connectors needed.
Place the stables near a gate, tower, or keep — anywhere patrols might start or end. No need to overthink it: wherever people move, horses do too.
In smaller outposts, they might stand alone in the yard. In larger fortresses, they lean against a wall for space efficiency.
And don't forget — horses need water and supplies. A well nearby makes sense. So does a covered storage shed for hay, tack, and tools.
Fully compatible with all Castletecture wall sections and accessories.
